Not really sure what to say except my basic statement stands, and I prefer not to take ethical direction from a dictionary.

He never said that he was putting a dogs life above a humans. He was simply saying that being outraged about a dog being killed should bring the same amount of outrage at a human being killed.

Its all semantics... But I can say that everyone is justified in their own mind for what they are doing. Depending on how you view things in life, killing an animal, no matter how small, can be seen differently to different people. People eat meat everyday and can justify eating them, but yet people can't justify killing them themselves. just the same as killing a fly is different in the minds of people to killing a dog or cat.

As a famous quote goes, its illegal to kill a person from passion, but legal to kill a person for your country...

the two soldiers are talking about the puppy and being cute and then the next moment the soldier holding the puppy just tosses him in the cliff, followed by howling of the little puppy

i am not going to post the movie here but i want to adress the matter of what the hell is going on in the minds of those soldiers
i can't believe how someone just throws a puppy down a cliff and acts like it was nothing
seriously f*cked up
So old the marines have already been disciplined (early June) by the slow moving justice system of the military. One of them was kicked out of the marines, and they wouldn't say how they were disciplining the other.

They weren't called up on charges until it came to light actually. They're the ones who put it on YouTube, and it went viral way before their superior officers heard about it.

Military prison probably, then busted down to private or w/e. The other would have been dishonorably discharged. The discharge is worse as I believe it is highly frowned upon by employers in the US, plus you gotta go through a lot of shit to get into the Marines.

Let's not start going there, one politics thread on this board is more than enough for everyone.

Discussion on killing puppies has less potential for spiraling into a flame war than discussion on political leaders. That's the only reason I prefer we not delve into that territory.

But, I think the soldiers have seen the error of their ways, here's one of some soldiers saving a puppy from certain doom.
